TCNWSAC task forces assist TCNWS with the implementation of its projects. If you are interested in joining a task force as a subject matter expert, please contact TCNWS at tcnws@dshs.texas.gov.

Task Force Member Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review, provide feedback on, and assist with beta-testing of survey instruments and other survey materials
  • Assist with survey marketing to increase response rates
  • Review and provide feedback on data reports
  • Propose data-driven recommendations

Project: Home Health and Hospice Care Nurse Staffing Study (HHHCNSS)

The HHHCNSS collects nurse staffing and related data from Texas home health and hospice agencies on a biannual basis. 

Hospital Nurse Staffing Study Task Force

Project: Hospital Nurse Staffing Study (HNSS)

The HNSS collects nurse staffing and related data from Texas hospitals on a biannual basis.

Long Term Care Nurse Staffing Study Task Force

Project: Long Term Care Nurse Staffing Study (LTCNSS)

The LTCNSS collects nurse staffing and related data from Texas long term care facilities on a biannual basis.

Texas Governmental Public Health Nurse Staffing Study Task Force

Project: Texas Governmental Public Health Nurse Staffing Study (TGPHNSS)

The TGPHNSS collects nurse staffing and related data from Texas governmental public health agencies (both local and state agencies) on a biannual basis.

Workplace Violence Against Nurses Task Force

Project: Workplace Violence Against Nurses (WPVAN) Survey

The WPVAN surveys included a survey of employers of nurses, which collected data regarding workplace violence prevention policies and practices, and a survey of individual nurses, which collected data regarding personal experiences with workplace violence.
