Code Enforcement Officer Registration Program About Code Enforcement - Registration Program

The Code Enforcement Officer Registration Program is this state's program for the registration of code enforcement officers and code enforcement officers-in-training under the authority of the Texas Department of State Health Services, Professional Licensing and Certification Unit, to safeguard the life, health, safety, and general welfare of the public by establishing and protecting the professional status of those persons whose duties in the field of code enforcement require knowledge of the property maintenance statutes of the State of Texas.

Program Activities

  • Develop and administer registration examinations and evaluate results
  • Issue registrations to qualified applicants
  • Investigate complaints
  • Deny, revoke, or suspend registrations after opportunity for a hearing has been offered
