It cannot be used to get treatment or infection history for individuals, or to request information on programs and services. 13th Texas HIV-STD Conference

The TDH  Bureau of HIV and STD Prevention hosted the 13th Texas HIV/STD Conference on April 16-20, 2001, at the Hyatt Regency Town Lake, located at 208 Barton Springs Road in Austin, Texas. The overall goal and objectives of the conference are listed below.

Overall Conference Goal

"To provide information, skill building, and opportunities for exchange of information among HIV/STD prevention, intervention, and clinical care providers, creating cohesive partnerships in order to serve those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS/STDs."

Overall Conference Objectives

By the end of the conference, participants will be able to:

  • apply cutting edge health care modalities relevant to HIV/AIDS/STD prevention, early intervention, client services, and care;
  • integrate strategies essential to the delivery of effective education, counseling, and treatment in settings appropriate for persons engaging in risk behaviors; and
  • outline strategic partnerships which can be utilized in the development and implementation of prevention, intervention, and treatment strategies which optimize community resources. Conference Steering Committee
