Service Area



ASH is one of eleven inpatient facilities within the Department of State Health Services system. The hospital's inpatient treatment programs are responsible for delivery of a broad array of mental health services to a 3,094,115 person, 38-county service area located in South Central Texas.

The counties ASH serves for both adult and child/adolescent programs include the following: Austin, Bastrop, Bell, Bosque, Blanco, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Colorado, Coryell, Falls, Fayette, Freestone, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hamilton, Hays, Hill, Johnson, Lampasas, Lee, Leon, Limestone, Madison, Matagorda, McCullough, McLennan, Milam, Mills, Robertson, San Saba, Travis, Waller, Washington, Wharton, and Williamson.

In addition to these 38 counties, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service (CAPS) also serves the following counties: Angelina, Brown, Chambers, Comanche, Coleman, Eastland, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hardin, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery, Newton, Nacogdoches, Orange, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Tyler, and Walker.
