May is National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month

Summer is right around the corner, which means more time for outdoor activities that may trigger allergies and asthma. The chronic lung disease of asthma affects more than 2 million people in Texas, including 1 in 11 children. It also causes 3 in 5 people living with asthma to limit their physical activity or miss days of school and work. There is no cure; however, it can be controlled with proper treatment and an asthma action plan. Don’t let asthma overshadow your summer fun. For more information contact your doctor or visit www.dshs.texas.gov/asthma/.
