Infectious Disease Prevention Section

The Infectious Disease Prevention Section oversees two units and two branches.  The TB/HIV/STD Unit manages program services related to tuberculosis, Hansen's disease and refugee health, sexually transmitted diseases, viral hepatitis prevention and all HIV activities.  The Infectious Disease Control Unit manages activities for detection, prevention, and control of other infectious diseases, including zoonotic diseases.  This section also oversees the Immunizations Branch that offers immunization programs for children and adults and the Pharmacy Branch, which supports the Department by distributing necessary medications and vaccines.
