The Toxic Substance Control Division Asbestos Program is committed to protect the physical and environmental health of the residents of Health Service Region 11, through excellence in program implementation and personal development.
The purpose of the Toxic Substance Control Division/Asbestos Program is to protect the physical and environmental health of the citizens of Texas. The Program strives to provide safe and healthy work environment for all public employees, and prevent the unnecessary exposures of asbestos and asbestos containing material to the general public.
The various sections of the Toxic Substance Control Division/Asbestos Program reflect the programs’ various activities:
- Texas Asbestos Health Protection Act (TAHPA).
- National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPS).
- Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).
