National Council on Problem Gambling - The National Council administers several nationwide programs, including a 24-hour confidential helpline and a gambling-specific certification program for treatment professionals.  It also sponsors conferences, supports research, distributes literature and works with other organizations involved in problem gambling issues.

Gamblers Anonymous - A fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem.  Gamblers Anonymous has information regarding problem gambling and a directory of group meetings.

Gam-Anon - The self-help organization for the spouses, family members or close friends of compulsive gamblers.  This site contains problem gambling information and literature as well as a meetings directory.

National Gambling Impact Study Commission Final Report – 1999 report on the impact of gambling in the United States.

Pathological Gambling: A Critical Review – 1999 report commissioned by the National Research Council and published by the National Academies Press.

National Center for Responsible Gaming – This organization funds research to identify risk factors for gambling disorders and to determine methods for treating and preventing the disorder.  The site contains links to a number of resources.

Texas Council on Problem Gambling – The Texas Council works with the National Council and provides a 24-hour confidential helpline for gambling addicts and their families. It also sponsors conferences, distributes literature and works with organizations including the Texas Lottery and IGT to raise awareness of problem gambling issues.

Texas Lottery – The Texas Lottery designs its games to provide entertainment and we encourage our customers to play responsibly. "Integrity and Responsibility" is a core value of the Texas Lottery Commission and that includes educating consumers about playing lottery games responsibly.
