The Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) has developed an online Cancer Reporting Registration process for ambulatory or ‘non-hospital’ providers. If you are an Eligible Professional (EP) participating in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Electronic Health Record Incentive Payment Programs (Incentive Programs) and choosing cancer reporting as an option to meet public health reporting objectives for Meaningful Use, this process will serve as your registration of intent to report to the TCR.

Please Note: Eligible Hospital (EH) and Critical Access Hospital (CAH) program participants CANNOT select reporting to the TCR to meet Incentive Program requirements. Please see 'Exchange Options at DSHS Supporting the Meaningful Use Modified Rule' table on the DSHS Meaningful Use webpage for more information.

Once your registration is received, TCR staff will review the information and provide a Registration Confirmation via email within 14 business daysPlease save this email as documentation of your registration. You may be placed in a queue for onboarding or for testing/validation. Incentive Program participants in the queue(s) are considered “actively engaged” in meaningful use.

The Implementation Guide for Ambulatory Healthcare Provider Reporting to Central Cancer Registries, HL7 Clinical Document Architecture [CDA], Release 1.1, March 2014 (IG) provides guidance on submitting data through HL7 for Meaningful Use. Data submissions to the TCR must meet the specifications in the IG to be accepted. You must have Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT) that meets the cancer data specifications to be onboarded [*see note].

Review our Stage 2 Meaningful Use Provider Checklist for more information on the onboarding and testing/validation processes.
