  1. Assist Lactation Consultant with assessments as assigned.
  2. Provide breastfeeding counseling for normal breastfeeding experiences and provide follow up support for normal lactation management issues according to established protocols and approved clinic resources
  3. Teach classes and lead support groups on the advantages of breastfeeding and normal breastfeeding management.
  4. Document encounters and complete forms according to policy and as assigned by supervisor.
  5. Provide breastfeeding counseling in the clinic, over the phone, and/or in the hospital.
  6. Attend meetings and training and support, facilitate and teach breastfeeding to staff.
  7. Participate in assigned health fairs and community events/projects and makes presentations to groups as assigned.
  8. Identify breastfeeding situations which require assistance and make immediate, appropriate referral to Lactation Consultant.
  9. Prepare breastfeeding motivational or informational bulletin boards as assigned.
  10. Perform clerical duties and height and weight measurements as needed.
  11. Issue breast pumps, provide instructions, and complete release form according to policy.
  12. Order, maintain, clean and inventory breast pumps and supplies according to schedule and policy.

  • Sends updates and corrections to contractor.
  • Serves as liaison with HHS printing services staff and DSHS Publications Management staff.
  • Works with program personnel to develop and monitor guidelines and procedures for printing, storing and distribution processes.
  • Identifies areas of change and makes recommendations to improve operations of activities involved with printing, storing and distribution.
