Calling all DONs and administrators of Texas Nursing Facilities:

The 2026 Nursing Facility Nurse Staffing Survey is now open!

The Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies (TCNWS) at the Department of State Health Services is asking all Administrators/Directors of Nursing (DONs) of nursing facilities in Texas to complete a survey in spring 2026. Data collected from this survey will help guide stakeholders and legislators in developing policy recommendations and establishing legislative priorities. TCNWS is the only organization that collects this important information.

We encourage you to complete the survey on paper first, then complete the survey online. Please find a paper copy of the survey and operational definitions here.
