TVFC Offers Two New Vaccines

The Texas Vaccine for Children’s Program (TVFC) will offer two new vaccines

  • MenQuadfi - a new Meningococcal (Groups A, C, Y, W) Conjugate Vaccine, and a new combination vaccine
  • VAXELIS -  Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis, Inactivated Poliovirus, Haemophilus b Conjugate and Hepatitis B Vaccine

MenQuadfi may be administered to all individuals 2 years and older and can also be used for second-dose vaccination of patients 15 years of age or older who are at continued risk of meningococcal disease.

Providers may order MenQuadfi by adding it to their MCV4 Choice beginning on May 3rd, 2021. MenQuadfi will only become available for ordering on the Electronic Vaccine Inventory (EVI) System after changes to a provider’s Choice are completed.

VAXELIS is approved for use as a 3-dose series in children 6 weeks through 4 years of age (prior to the 5th birthday)

Providers may order VAXELIS beginning in July 2021. Providers who choose to administer VAXELIS must select it as an option during Choice on May 3rd, 2021.
