AIM Produced E-Modules
Welcome to the Severe Hypertension in
Pregnancy AIM eModules where we will review the 4 domains of the Severe HTN in
Pregnancy patient safety bundle.
The goal of the Readiness domain is to
identify strategies and tools that are available to support evaluation and
management of women with severe hypertension in pregnancy.
The goal of the Recognition domain is
to review standardized measurement and assessment strategies for women with
hypertension in pregnancy and to discuss key principles in educating women and
their families during the prenatal and postpartum periods.
The goal of the Response domain is to
identify the need for facility-wide standard protocols with checklists and
escalation policies and outline patient, family and staff support for ICU
admissions and serious complications of severe hypertension in pregnancy.
The goal of the Reporting domain is to
describe how a culture of huddles and post event debriefs can demonstrate
successes and opportunities for system learning, as well as review how
multidisciplinary quality improvement and review of serious hypertension, preeclampsia
and eclampsia cases can improve outcomes.
