What is a DSHS approved CHW Instructor certification course?

  • A DSHS approved CHW Instructor certification course must meet three factors; The training program, the curricula, and the instructor must be certified by the Community Health Workers - Promotor(a) or Community Health Worker Training and Certification Program. 

CHW Instructor certification courses are available face to face or online depending on the training program offering the course. There are five instructor certification training programs in Texas.

Distance Learning

CCHD’s National CHW Training Center, Texas A&M School of Public Health

Texas Area Health Education Center East- Coastal Region
