Texas Nutrition Environment Assessment in Restaurants (TxNEA-R) Tool
The Texas Nutrition Environment Assessment in Restaurants (TxNEA-R) tool is a Texas adaptation of the Nutrition Environment Measures Survey in Restaurants (NEMS-R) tool. The tool can be used to assess the nutrition environment of prepared food outlets in order to make healthy choices easier. To learn about the tool, first look at the Background Training Webinar.

- Background Training (PDF accessible slides with script) describes the purpose of the TxNEA-R tool, what interventions can result, and its limitations. The background training is required for project coordinators and recommended for raters.
- Project Coordinator Training (PDF accessible slides with script) describes protocols and is required for project coordinators.
- Rater Protocol Training- accessible slides with script describes protocols and data collection practices and is required for raters and community coordinators.
- Data collection training- accessible slides with script describes the tool, instructions, and glossary definitions and is required for raters and community coordinators.
