Continuing Education (CE) Service

We are an accredited provider of continuing medical education for physicians by the Texas Medical Association.

We are an accredited provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

We are also a designated provider of Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.

Earn CPH Recertification Credits for specified DSHS CE events.

We offer continuing education events related to the practice of marriage and family therapy.

The DSHS CE Service is an approved provider of Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator continuing education hours, per LTCR Licensing and Credentialing, HHSC Regulatory Services.

Earn LPC hours for specified DSHS CE events.

The DSHS CE Service is an approved provider of professional development hours for licensed psychologists, per the Texas Administrative Code Rule §463.35 (f)(1).

The DSHS CE Service is a sponsor of continuing education for Registered Sanitarians according to the Texas Administrative Code Rule §119.27 (d).

The DSHS CE Service is a continuing education provider for events directly related to the practice of social work.

The DSHS CE Service offers certificates of attendance for attendees not requesting the above types of continuing education.

Unfortunately, no. CE Service has no authority to provide or renew continuing education Provider status. For Provider status help, please contact the appropriate accreditation board.

If you are co-hosting your event with a HHSC/DSHS program, please ask your HHSC/DSHS counterpart to reach out to us to see if we can help you. We are only able to work with event planners within HHSC/DSHS.

CE Service can host continuing education credits/contact hours for the following types of events: 

• Live – occurs at a set time with someone available to answer questions; can be in person or virtual 

• Enduring – usually online; available for participants to view at any time 

• Regularly Scheduled Series – includes events planned as a series with multiple ongoing sessions, e.g., weekly, monthly, or quarterly
