COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic in Lavaca County

The Texas Department of State Health Services will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Shiner, Texas on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.  Two hundred (200) of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be administered.  (Note:  Individuals seeking their 2nd dose from the Lavaca clinic held on February 3, 2021 do not need to sign-up for this clinic.  Second dose appointments have already been confirmed for that event).

You must have an appointment to receive a vaccine.  Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Who is eligible to receive a vaccine?

Individuals who are part of the Phase 1A or Phase 1B group qualify to receive a vaccine.  For more information about who is included in these groups, please visit:

If you register to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a DSHS clinic, you are attesting that you meet the criteria to be included in either Phase 1A or Phase 1B.

You are not eligible to receive a Moderna COVID-19 vaccine if:

  • You are younger than 18 years old
  • You are not part of the Phase 1A or Phase 1B group
  • You have symptoms of COVID-19 on the day of the clinic
  • You have been diagnosed with COVID-19 within 10 days of the clinic 
  • You have a history of severe allergic reaction (e.g., anaphylaxis) to a previous dose or component of the COVID-19 vaccine product
  • You have received passive antibody therapy as treatment for COVID-19 within the last 90 days
  • You have received another vaccine within 14 days of the clinic

What should I do on the day of the clinic?

If you have registered for an appointment:

  • Bring a face mask to wear at the clinic
  • Arrive no more than 15 minutes early for your appointment
