Working hand-in-hand with its Texas A&M System partners, the state legislature, and the communities it serves, the mission of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service to serve Texans through community-based education.  The AgriLife Extension offers a diverse array of educational programs, activities, and resources.

Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System
Information was gathered through telephone surveys on risk factors of chronic diseases, including cancer. The Texas BRFSS website links to the CDC's national site.

Cancer Alliance of Texas
The Cancer Alliance of Texas engages organizations, agencies, institutions, and individuals to work collaboratively to reduce the impact of cancer in Texas, and to promote the Texas Cancer Plan.

Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT)
CPRIT is the state agency that is charged with creating and expediting innovation in the area of cancer research; attracting, creating, or expanding research capabilities; and developing and implementing the Texas Cancer Plan.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The CDC’s mission is to collaborate to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health – through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury, and disability, and preparedness for new health threats. Their website contains cancer data and statistics.

Comprehensive Cancer Control National Partners (CCCNP)
The CCCNP has existed for over 10 years as a collaborative group of diverse national organizations working together to build and strengthen comprehensive cancer control (CCC) efforts across the nation.  The CCCNP facilitates CCC coalitions to develop and sustain the implementation of comprehensive cancer control plans at the state, tribe, territory, U.S. Pacific Island Jurisdictions, and local levels.

National Cancer Institute
The National Cancer Institute coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.

National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program
Established in 1998, NCCCP provides the funding, guidance, and technical assistance that programs use to design and implement impactful, strategic, and sustainable plans to prevent and control cancer. NCCCP currently supports all 50 states and the District of Columbia, 7 U.S. Associated Pacific islands/territories, and 8 tribes and tribal organizations.

Texas Cancer Registry
The Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) is a statewide population-based registry that serves as the foundation for measuring the Texas cancer burden, comprehensive cancer control efforts, health disparities, progress in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship, as well as supports a wide variety of cancer-related research.
