Texas Health Steps Anticipatory Guidance Resource List

A resource designed for providers to link them to available anticipatory guidance materials. Providers can reference the guide for various forms of anticipatory guidance materials including printed materials as well as websites to which parents and other caregivers, children and teens can be referred. The resource also includes information on language availability, literacy level, usage restrictions and cost. Included are direct links to other Internet sites that we believe may be helpful. However, this does not imply that HHSC endorses all of the information at each site. Furthermore, while we attempt to monitor and update our listings on a regular basis, HHSC cannot make any claims or assume any responsibility as to the reliability or functionality of the Internet addresses provided or the information provided at the sites. Ages and Stages    United Way www.bornlearning.org Public engagement campaign targeting parents, grandparents, caregivers and providers. Website and materials available in English and Spanish. Materials provided are reviewed and approved by AAP. Partners include United Way of America, Civitas and Families and Work Institute. English and Spanish 4th grade level

 Cost-

Educational handouts presented in age specific format from newborn through 5 years, highlighting stages of development. Includes nutrition and safety information. Materials are copyrighted. United Way can be contacted for permission to print materials.
Additional Education Materials 
Home Safety Checklist and various other educational handouts American Academy of Pediatrics patiented.aap.org Educational handouts etc. on a variety of topics. Provider must subscribe to AAP Patient Education Online. Yearly subscription fee required. English and Spanish 4th grade level

Cost-

The AAP offers over 300 various educational handouts, etc. May be purchased in individual packets or as a package which includes unlimited access to all educational materials. Access requires a yearly subscription fee.

TIPP-The Injury Prevention Program

In office counseling information related only to safety. Includes a series of age related safety sheets from birth to 10 years. Uses grouped ages.

Connected Kids: Safe, Strong, Secure American Academy of Pediatrics http://www2.aap.org/connectedkids/ Development and Behavior related anticipatory guidance focusing on helping families raise resilient children. Each topic discusses the Childs development, behavior and the parent's responses. Builds on TIPP by coordinating TIPP information with scheduled health maintenance visits.
