All vaccine-preventable (VPD) data captured in the dashboard represent cases that were approved in the Texas National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) as of 12/4/19. Any case pending data entry or approval is not included. Note that the data for 2017 and 2018 is final and complete. *Data for 2019 is provisional as of 12/4/19. Questions can be directed to the EAIDU VPD Team via VPDTexas@dshs.texas.gov.
Note: Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) is included among VPD surveillance counts to provide updates on AFM activity. Currently, AFM is monitored by the DSHS VPD team. The exact cause of AFM is still yet to be determined. View more info on AFM, go to Acute Flaccid Myelitis.
