All vaccine-preventable (VPD) data captured in the dashboard represent cases that were approved in the Texas National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) as of 12/4/19. Any case pending data entry or approval is not included. Note that the data for 2017 and 2018 is final and complete. *Data for 2019 is provisional as of 12/4/19.     • This line graph illustrates cases by VPD condition from November 2018 to the current year to date.
  5. Incidence Rates by Maps for Select Vaccine-Preventable Diseases in Texas 
    • Maps have been updated with finalized 2018 data.
    • The first row illustrates pertussis disease incidence per 100,000 population at the county level in Texas from 2016 to 2018.
    • The second row illustrates mumps disease incidence per 100,000 population by county level in Texas from 2016 to 2018.

Note: Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) is included among VPD surveillance counts to provide updates on AFM activity. Currently, AFM is monitored by the DSHS VPD team. The exact cause of AFM is still yet to be determined. View more info on AFM, go to Acute Flaccid Myelitis.
