NEDSS Access and Support

Access Requests

These instructions are effective starting May 21, 2024:

To request access to the NEDSS production (live) environment, users will need to first request access to the NEDSS training environment, complete TB training courses, and then submit verification of course completion.

Follow these steps:

1. Submit a request for the NEDSS training environment using the TB/HIV/STD Database Access Requests online form:
   1. First, complete the Notice of Change of TB Personnel Form and save to desktop.
   2. Next, complete the TB/HIV/STD Data Security and Confidentiality training and save certificate of completion on desktop.
   3. Log onto the TB/HIV/STD Database Access Requests online form (live starting May 21, 2024). Enter information as prompted.
      • Review Texas NEDSS User Guide for Tuberculosis Programs the when deciding which level of access is needed (refer to page 4, Table 1).
   4. In the last box, upload the TB/HIV/STD Data Security and Confidentiality training certificate and Notice of Change of TB Personnel Form.
       
2. Wait for an email with instructions and any next steps or corrections needed.
    
3. Once user receives their training environment credentials, begin NEDSS Training Courses for Regional and Local Health Departments courses 1-6.
    
4. After viewing each course, complete the assessment questionnaire using the link provided at the end of each course presentation.
   1. User must score 100% on each assessment. The user must ensure their name and email are entered correctly on the first page of the assessment.
   2. Upon successfully completing each assessment, user will receive an email with a certificate of completion. Save these certificates.
       
5. Once the user has collected certificates for all six courses, submit a NEDSS Support Helpdesk ticket.  Please upload all TB completion certificates to the helpdesk ticket where prompted.
    
6. Wait for an email from the NEDSS helpdesk with production environment credentials.
