THCIC was created by the 74th Texas Legislature in 1995. THCIC's charge is to collect data and report on health care activity in hospitals and health maintenance organizations operating in Texas. The goal is to provide information that will enable consumers to have an impact on the cost and quality of health care in Texas.
THCIC Rule Amendments
Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission proposes amendments to
THCIC rules. These amendments are posted for review in the Texas Register, March 31, 2017, Volume 42 Number 13, pages 1689-1824 . The amended rules are also available here.
THCIC maintains a Registry of Health Care Providers and Referral Groups available to provide life-sustaining treatment or other services relating to the Texas Advance Directives Act.
