What we do

The mission of the Laboratory Safety Office is to promote the safety and health of Laboratory employees and to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities: Photo of Emergency Shower Testing
  • Laboratory Safety Committee
  • Safety training
  • Immunization and respiratory protection programs
  • Identification and elimination or mitigation of laboratory hazards
  • Infectious, chemical, and radioactive hazardous waste management
  • Laboratory wastewater monitoring
  • First aid and post-exposure follow-up for employees injured on the job or exposed to infectious, chemical, or radioactive agents
