Storage/Preservation Prior to Shipping
  • Store in hard or soft plastic or glass container.
  • Measure and record the chlorine residual.
  • Maintain sample at 4.0°C.
  • Some headspace is allowed.

Shipping and Specimen Handling Requirements
  • Samples without chlorine residuals must be tested by laboratory within 48 hours of collection. 
  • Ship according to Dangerous Goods Regulations, IATA, and/or CFR 49.

Additional Information
  • Samples with chlorine residuals must be analyzed by the lab within 14 days of collection.  
  • Samples without chlorine residuals must be analyzed by the lab within 48 hours of collection.
