Texas Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program
Program Overview
The Texas Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program Office administers the Conrad 30 Waiver Program for Texas. The Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program allows each state’s department of health to recommend up to 30 international medical graduates (IMGs) each year for a waiver of the J-1 visa requirement to return to the IMG’s home country for two years. In order to receive a waiver, IMGs must serve in designated health professional shortage areas (HPSAs), medically underserved areas (MUAs), or medically underserved populations (MUPs) for three years. Application and Fee Submission
- Application Packet - The Texas Conrad 30 Program does not accept hard copy applications. The application packet must be submitted as PDF via email to Conrad30@dshs.texas.gov
- Application Fee* - The Texas Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waiver Program application fee is $3,000.00. Send application fee with a copy of application cover letter attached to:

- Complete Application - An application is considered complete only after the Program has received the application and application fee. The Program will send notice of receipt to the sender via email upon receipt of both the packet and the application fee.
