Tour - Cruelty

Animal Topics  Virtual Tour: Cruelty
(Animals, Animal Control, Animal Shelters, Animals in Disaster, Animals in Public Places,
Animal Friendly Program,  Animal Ownership, Animal Bites)

The staff of some animal shelters investigate
alleged cases of animal cruelty. Cruelty can
be the result of owners who don't know how
to properly care for animals.

Sometimes cruelty is deliberate, such as fighting dogs or cocks (both of which
are against the law in Texas). If the animal cruelty investigator finds that an
animal is being cruelly treated, the animal can be taken away from the owner
and charges can be filed against the owner.
