Workplace Violence Against Nurses Reports
House Bill 2696 (H.B. 2696), 84th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2015, tasked the Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies (TCNWS) to conduct a study on workplace violence against nurses (WPVAN) in hospitals, freestanding emergency medical care facilities (FEC), nursing facilities, and home health agencies (HHA). Texas Health and Safety Code §105.011 is the current enabling statute for the WPVAN program.
A survey of individual nurses and their experience with violence in workplace was conducted in 2016.
A survey of employers and the programs and policies in place in their organizations to prevent violence against nurses was conducted in 2016 and again in 2018.
