HRSA Definition:

Program Guidance:

The use of funds under this service category should be limited and carefully monitored. Direct cash payments to clients are not permitted.

Such arrangements may also raise liability issues for the funding source, which should be carefully weighed in the decision process.

Limitations:

These funds cannot pay for child care while the client is at work, school, or other activity unrelated to accessing medical care or RWHAP- related meetings, groups, or training sessions.

Services:

Child Care Services is the provision of intermittent child care while the HIV-positive client attends medical or other RWHAP-related appointments. Family members or other child care providers may be used.
