| Shipping and Specimen Handling Requirements | - Refrigerate at 2°C–8°C and ship overnight on frozen gel packs if specimens are expected to arrive at the Lab within 72 hours of collection.
- Freeze at -70°C and ship overnight on dry ice if specimens are expected to arrive at the Lab more than 72 hours after collection.
- Ship according to Dangerous Good Regulations, IATA, and/or CFR 49.
- Handling as infectious agent using universal precautions.
- Triple-contain in accordance with federal shipping regulations.
- Submitters are responsible for packaging and shipping specimens according to regulatory requirements.
