Sample/Specimen Type for Testing Stool samples.
Minimum Volume/Size Required 300 µL to 500 µL.
Storage/Preservation Prior to Shipping Specimen should be maintained between 2°C.
Transport Medium
  • Raw stool
  • Stool treated with PVA.
Specimen Labeling
  • At least 2 patient specific identifiers: First and last name as one identifier and a DOB or a unique patient specific identifier (e.g. Medical record number).
  • Specimen identification must match submission form.
Shipping and Specimen Handling Requirements
  • Ship according to Dangerous Goods Regulations, IATA, and/or CFR 49.
  • Specimens must be received on cold packs or wet ice.

Only samples positive for Cyclospora will produce a positive result.
