Healthy Texas Mothers and Babies is committed to providing clinicians, parents, and men and women of childbearing age with opportunities to become more informed about health topics that influence infant mortality in our state. To that end, DSHS has organized multiple learning opportunities for community health workers, promotores, nurses, physicians, mid-level clinicians, social workers, health care administrators, and others.

    Texas Health Steps Online Module on Reducing Non-Medically Indicated Deliveries Prior to 39 Weeks

    DSHS developed a Texas Health Steps Module for physicians, nurses, and other professionals that will provide one free Continuing Education Credit. The module covers the importance of a 39-week gestation for a healthy pregnancy and provides guidance for providers on how to effectively communicate with patients and their families on this topic. This module can be accessed directly at txhealthsteps.com/cms/?q=catalog/course/1877 or by visiting the Texas Health Steps website at txhealthsteps.com/cms/.
