Continuing Education Programs

We offer continuing education programs for healthcare providers and other professionals. Review the programs below for more information.  

 

ACCME Accreditation with Commendation 

Continuing Medical Education: The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  
 

Continuing Nursing Education:  The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.   

 

 

NCHEC Designated ProviderCertified Health Education Specialists:  The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service, is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. 
 

Certified in Public Health:  CPH Recertification Credits may be earned for some events.   

 

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists: The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service, the continuing education provider of events related to the practice of marriage and family therapy.   

 

Licensed Nursing Facility Administrators: The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service is approved to provide Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator continuing education hours, per LTCR Licensing and Credentialing, HHSC Regulatory Services.  

 

Licensed Professional Counselors: LPC hours may be earned for some events.  

 

Licensed Psychologists: The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service is approved as a provider of professional development hours for licensed psychologists, per the Texas Administrative Code Rule §463.35 (f)(1).   

 

Registered Sanitarians:  The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service is considered a sponsor of continuing education for Registered Sanitarians according to the Texas Administrative Code Rule §119.27 (d).   

 

Social Workers: The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service, is a continuing education provider for events directly related to the practice of social work.  

 

Certificate of Attendance: The Texas Department of State Health Services, Continuing Education Service provides certificate of attendance for attendees not requesting the above types of continuing education.
