To support your commitment to the field of cancer reporting, the Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) offers basic and specialized training, advanced workshops, and software training. NAACCR ODS Exam Preparation and Review Webinar Series

TCR is pleased to announce the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) ODS Exam Preparation and Review Webinar Series January 20- March 17, 2026, offered to Texas candidates who plan to sit for the ODS Exam March 20-April 11, 2026.

Through an agreement with TCR, NAACCR is offering the webinar series at the discounted price of $68 to Texas cancer reporters who pre-register with TCR.

To receive the discounted rate, complete the TCR’s ODS Exam Prep Enrollment Code Request. You will receive an email about the discount and further instructions to complete the NAACCR registration process within a week of completing the form.

TCR Basic Training

The Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) is pleased to offer our TCR Basic Training Webinar Series for abstracting 2025 cases. This live webinar series is for Texas cancer reporters and will cover all reportable data items required by the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Program of Cancer Registries. 

The training will cover information on the TCR and its operations, casefinding and follow-up, coding and staging standards for cancer registration, and solid tumor rules and treatment for cases diagnosed 2025 forward.

The live 3-week series will be conducted via Teams webinars Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning January 12, 2026, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am CST. No webinar will be presented on Monday, January 19th. A link will be sent to each registered participant before each session. Please register here.

Recordings and materials will be available on FLccSC after each session is completed. 

There are no CEs applicable to this series. 

 

2026 Statewide Training

2026 Statewide Educational Program

The Texas Cancer Registry (TCR) is excited to sponsor the 2026 Statewide Educational Program for our Texas cancer reporters. Presented by Denise Harrison, LLC, this online training aims to increase abstracting and coding skills for intermediate to advanced level reporters and provide a space to share knowledge with colleagues. All Texas reporters have the option of attending either April 8th or April 9th, 2026. The event will begin at 8:30 am and end at 3:15 pm (CT) both days. The same information will be presented on both days the session is offered.

There are three (3) options available for earning the six (6) Category A CEs. Please read through them to determine which is best for you.

  1. Watch the webinar live in a group setting as a Live Interactive Meeting. You will not register for the webinar In Option 2 if you are taking advantage of Option 1. You simply select the link to the location (and date for those locations offering both dates) you wish to attend at and complete the form. Your will receive an email confirming a spot at that location. Seating is limited in certain locations; once all the seats are taken, the form will not allow any more responses. You will not receive webinar reminders with this option since you are not registering through the webinar platform. We will email your certificate of attendance (CEIP) to you within 2 weeks of completion of the education.

  2. Attend individually by signing up using the Register Here link. When you click on the Register Here link, there will be a drop-down feature to allow you to choose one of the dates. You will receive a unique registration confirmation email with a link to join the webinar on the date you selected. You will also receive three (3) reminder emails at one week, one dat, and one hour before the webinar starts. You will receive your CE certificate from the webinar platform about an hour after the webinar ends. PLEASE NOTE: Some facilities block emails from GoToWebinar or send them to spam. Please use an email address that will allow you to receive your registration confirmation, reminder emails, and certificate of attendance.
  3. Watch the recorded webinar in FLccSC by August 31, 2026. You will not register for the webinar in Option 1 or 2 if you are taking advantage of Option 3. You simply log into FLccSC to view the webinar which will be posted two weeks after the live presentation. We will break the recording down into three (3) parts, one for each topic we cover. A certificate will be available in FLccSC after completeion of the video presentation.
