HIV/STD Program - Public Health Region 2/3

Purpose  

The purpose of the HIV/STD Program is to ensure the prevention, care, and treatment of STIs and HIV within Region 2/3. We collaborate with local health departments, health care providers, and community programs to provide services and resources to reduce the spread and complications of STIs and HIV.  

What We Do  

The HIV/STD Program provides services to 44 of 49 counties in the North Texas Region by active involvement in disease prevention and intervention functions to include:​  

  • Provide HIV/STD education and information.  
  • Collect, interpret, and distribute data relating to HIV and STD.  
  • Provide guidance to those who oversee, plan for, or provide HIV and STD services.  
  • Provide medication and supplies to prevent and treat communicable diseases.  
  • Disease investigation with Field Investigation and Outbreak Response.
