Draft and Proposed Rules - Environmental Lead Program

ANNOUNCING: DRAFT TEXAS ENVIRONMENTAL LEAD REDUCTION RULES AVAILABLE FOR STAKEHOLDER COMMENT

Draft Texas Environmental Lead Reduction Rules (TELRR)

Informal Comment Submission for the Draft Lead Rules

The Texas Department of State Health Services is accepting informal comments from stakeholders on the draft lead rule amendments January 4, 2021 through January 19, 2021. Comments may be submitted by mail or email. The rules have been amended for consistency with the federal lead regulations due to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently lowering their lead hazard standards in the federal lead rule. Corrections to references and formatting edits were also made. DSHS will review informal comments received but is unable to provide an individual response to each commenter.

To facilitate DSHS review, use the following template to submit comments.

• The specific citation and page number for the referenced proposed rule section.
• Recommended alternative language.
• A description of how your recommendation will affect public health and the regulated community.
