"Employee taking notes on a pad of paper"

To provide your employees, the tools, and resources to work in a safe environment, it is important to understand the effects of pesticide exposure or poisoning in our health by providing employees the tools and resources to work in a safe environment.

Pesticide Exposure or Poisoning at Work

  • Call 911 immediately if your employee has been around pesticides and feels sick.
  • For more information about possible exposure, call the poison control hotline at 1-800-222-1222 or DSHS Occupational Health Surveillance

Decontamination Supplies for Pesticide Exposure or Poisoning

Decontamination supplies should be together in an accessible area available to all workers. Employers should have enough supplies for workers' needs in case of an emergency. In addition to these supplies, employees must wear proper safety gear and eye protection if needed. For more information about disinfection and sterilization, please visit Disinfection and Sterilization on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website.
