Texas Viral Hepatitis Elimination Plan

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is proud to launch the Texas Viral Hepatitis Elimination Plan – a statewide effort to:

  • Reduce new infections by 90 percent
  • Reduce hepatitis-related deaths by 65 percent

Guided by a vision of a hepatitis-free Texas, the plan focuses on prevention, testing, treatment, and education.

Despite major progress, viral hepatitis remains one of the leading causes of liver disease and cancer in our state. The new plan builds on partnerships across healthcare, community, organizations, and policy leaders to reverse trends and improve liver health for all Texans.
