    E-mail data requests to HIV/STD Program - This email can be used to request data and statistics on HIV, TB, and STDs in Texas. It cannot be used to get treatment or infection history for individuals, or to request information on programs and services. Please do not include any personal, identifying health information in your email such as HIV status, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, etc.

Care ServicesRequired Training and Resources for Care Services Providers and Internal Staff


CORE TRAINING - The list of required training for the HIV/STD workforce to be completed within the first year of employment.

ARIES Training - AIDS Regional Information and Evaluation System (ARIES) is the system used by DSHS to collect and report data required by HRSA. Training is required for all new users within the first year of employment. Visit the ARIES Training page to learn more about ARIES user training requirements.

Ryan White Care Services Programs Basics (in development) - Care Overview, RW funding streams, service categories, standards of care.

STD 101: What You Need to Know [TRAIN Texas] - This interactive, easy to understand course offers an overview on the most common STDs: chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, syphilis, herpes, HPV, and HIV. Must be completed within the first year of employment.

ALL Ryan White Standards of Care (in development) - Will include Medical Case Management, Non-Medical Case Management, and Referral for Healthcare.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) - Highly recommended within first year of employment if MI training never completed in the past, (college or other classroom training). Classroom training preferred. MI is a counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. It is a practical, empathetic, and short-term process that takes into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.
