Reporting Testing Results

All screening and diagnostic test results must be reported to TEHDI (Texas Health and Safety Chapter 47 and Texas Administrative Code Title25, Chapter 37, Subchapter S) through the Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention management information system (TEHDI MIS). All results must be reported into the TEHDI MIS. New MIS users are provided with training on best practices. For information on how to obtain a username, password and schedule system training, call Revvity at 866-427-5768, then select option 3.

Facility Certification Requirements

The Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (TEHDI)program certifies facilities with newborn hearing screening programs according to the Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas Health and Safety Code certification criteria and best practices protocols.  

Renewal of certification is conducted bi- annually in January and July and is based on standards measuring the facility’s performance against national and state performance averages.

There are six levels of certification: Preliminary (new program), Pending, Provisional, Standard, Distinguished, and Champion.
