Healthcare Safety Training
The Healthcare Safety Training Team works to reduce healthcare-associated infections by providing trainings and educational resources to Texas healthcare workers, public health, and allied professionals. We want you to be confident in infection prevention and control regardless of your role and educational background.
We provide learning needs assessments, webinars, in-person training events, and more to address your organizational infection prevention and control learning needs.
Project Firstline

Texas is leading statewide efforts in collaboration with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Project Firstline. Project Firstline is a training collaborative on infection prevention and control that offers education and training for healthcare workers and the public health workforce. Learners are equipped using content that provides information on infection control principals that will protect themselves, their facilities and the community from infectious disease threats such as COVID-19.
Host a Training
Want to host a training at your facility about how respiratory droplets spread germs and the importance of ventilation? CDC’s easy-to-follow training toolkit can help you do just that. Even if you’re not an infection control expert, the user-friendly lesson plans can help teach your team in 10, 20, or 60-minute sessions.
