Environmental Services provides direct services to prevent occupational and environmental diseases through the identification, evaluation, and control of environmental health hazards.


Community Hygiene

Community Hygiene consists of environmental programs including hazard communication, environmental lead, and the Asbestos Hazardous Emergency Response Act (AHERA) for Asbestos Management Plans in Schools.

Effective November 1, 2017, the Mold Program has transferred to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) in accordance with Senate Bill 202 (84th Regular Session 2015).

Asbestos programs safeguard the health of the state's citizens in public buildings from asbestos through licensing and inspection of those involved in asbestos-related activities.
