Health Professions Resource Center (HPRC)

What We Do

The Health Professions Resource Center (HPRC) is the primary source of health workforce information in the state of Texas. HPRC supports policymakers, educators, workforce planners, and health care stakeholders by providing reliable information on the supply, distribution, demographics, and future needs for the health care workforce.

HPRC collects and analyzes data on the Texas health care workforce. Use the list below to navigate HPRC's data products and services.

  • Publications and Reports: Access HPRC's legislatively mandated reports, executive summaries, one-pagers, and special studies on health workforce trends and issues.
  • Texas Health Data Dashboards: View HPRC's interactive health care workforce dashboards, including the Health Profession Fact Sheet, Supply, and Supply and Demand Projections Dashboards, on the Texas Health Data website in the Health Care tab under Health Professions Resources Center.
    • Note: We are currently migrating all health workforce data to our dashboards. Information on professions which are not in our Texas Health Data Dashboards may be found on HPRC's Publications and Reports page.
  • Practice-MUP Designation: View information on the application requirements for designation as a practice site supporting limited prescriptive authority (Practice-MUP).
  • For custom data requests, please email HPRC.

Please note that HPRC only provides health workforce data, analysis, and reports. For information on licensing, certification, or education requirements, or to file a complaint against a provider, contact the licensing board for that profession. A list of licensing boards is available on our Frequently Asked Questions page.
