    Call for abstracts


    The GIS team at the Texas Department of State Health Services invites abstract submissions for poster presentations

    on GIS-related public health topics as part of the agency’s celebration of GIS Day the morning of November 13th

    Participants are encouraged to present on topics that highlight the applications of geospatial technologies in health

    care issues, environmental epidemiology, disaster preparedness and response, and disease ecology, among others;

    however, any GIS-related subject with spatial solutions to public health problems can be submitted.


    Poster Specifications  

    Posters should be square and no larger than 42" x 42". Send your completed poster, in pdf format by November 7th to 

    GIS@DSHS.texas.gov. The GIS team will print posters free of charge.

    When you have completed your poster, send it in pdf format, to GIS@DSHS.texas.gov

    Poster size should be no larger than 42" x 42".

    The GIS-User group is a group of GIS users at DSHS and other HHS agencies that meets quarterly to share knowledge on GIS-related subjects through oral presentations.
