Regional and Local Health Operations (RLHO) Community Health Worker (CHW) Coordination
Regional and Local Health Operations (RLHO) Community Health Worker (CHW) Coordination serves as a hub for connecting, supporting, and strengthening the CHW workforce across Texas and works to enhance communication, collaboration, and capacity-building among CHWs, CHW Instructors, and partners across DSHS Public Health Regions (PHRs).
CHW Coordination Activities
- Lead statewide efforts to mobilize and support CHWs in addressing emerging public health issues.
- Support PHRs in developing sustainable CHW initiatives through strategic partnerships and collaboration.
- Provide training, technical assistance, and resources for CHWs and CHW Instructors
- Promote the CHW workforce as an essential part of public health
RLHO CHW Training Center
The Training Center offers innovative, public health–focused training and continuing education opportunities for CHWs and CHW Instructors. With a focus on virtual and regionally informed delivery, the RLHO CHW Training Center supports the development of a skilled and confident certified CHW workforce.
