Please be aware that Senate Bill 286 of the 79th Texas Legislature requires all members of independent boards, committees, or councils (including GETAC), who were appointed on or after January 1, 2006, to complete training in the requirements of the Open Meetings Act and the Public Information Act, within 90 days of their appointments:
Texas Open Government Trainings:
Please complete the two sessions of training and forward copies of their certificates to the DSHS Office of EMS\Trauma Systems via facsimile (512-834-6736) or electronically to EMSInfo@dshs.texas.gov. GETAC committee members who have been re-appointed and already have copies of the two training certificates on file with DSHS are not required to take the training again. Failure to complete this requirement will prevent you from participating in the Committee meetings as a member of the Committee. - GETAC Committee Report Form
Committee chairs should complete this template before reporting to the GETAC Council. Please begin your committee report on slide 2, using additional slides as needed; give a brief, concise description of committee discussion items needing council guidance, items referred to GETAC for future action, and any applicable announcements.
Please submit completed report forms to the GETAC Council chair and vice-chair no later than 5:00 PM the day before the GETAC Council meets. Occasionally, committees may meet on the same day the GETAC Council meets. This sometimes occurs in November when GETAC is held in conjunction with the annual Texas EMS Conference. For committees meeting on these days, please submit a completed report form to the GETAC Council chair and vice chair as soon as possible.Email: emsinfo@dshs.texas.gov
